Purchasing and Merchandising ExpertiseThe ideal candidate will possess extensive product knowledge, including production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends. This knowledge will enable them to create and negotiate price bids effectively.As a key member of the Prepared Foods team, you will be responsible for monitoring and acting upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in a timely and accurate manner. Additionally, you will control spoilage and shrink, achieve turn goals, and participate in inventory.You will also be responsible for completing spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required. Furthermore, you will assist with counter service and cooks as scheduled or as necessary, and communicate with the Kitchen Manager/Chef and Team Leader on ordering needs and issues.Customer Service and TeamworkExcellent customer service skills are essential for this role, as you will be interacting with customers, vendors, and Team Members on a daily basis. You must be able to deliver information in a clear and respectful manner and meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.You will work closely with the Team Leader or Assistant Team Leader(s) to cost recipes, oversee customer special order procedures, and support leadership in conducting inventories. You will also maintain financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsThis role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday, and perform tasks that involve bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. You must also be able to work in wet and dry conditions, use tools and equipment, and follow established procedures for health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
