The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for recruitment of clients to the Customs and Border Protection Workforce Wellness Program (CBP WWP) through outreach to local CBP facilities and events. This includes developing relationships with local community partners to provide services to clients. The Outreach Coordinator will also participate in peer-to-peer communication, presentations, and other outreach mediums as needed. Recruitment will focus on reaching CBP employees and their family members, and spouses of fallen CBP agents to engage in services. The Outreach Coordinator will also oversee volunteers and interns to assist in achieving enrollment goals.
Qualifications ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Planning, evaluating, and implementing community outreach and associated programs related to the CBP WWP delivery of quality services.
  • Establishing and maintaining partnerships with external stakeholders, as well as federal, state, and local agencies to understand concerns and gather information for drafting recommendations to improve the delivery of services.
  • Promoting dialogue about wellness, policies, and programs by supporting the coordination of forums, community meetings, and other special engagements.
  • Interpreting, developing, and analyzing policy and program activities related to stakeholder engagement and the challenges faced by individuals and as it relates to the community's wellness.
  • Represent the CBP WWP at working groups and at stakeholder engagements.
  • Researching and analyzing gaps, needs, and goals of the law enforcement community.
  • Facilitate weekly referral and outreach meetings with intake and community partners.
  • Representing CBP WWP to interested agencies, organizations, and community groups on community outreach and prevention/intervention through information sharing and creating partnerships.
  • Devising approaches to work with agencies, organizations, and community groups and address issues/problems that impact outreach.
  • Surveying the needs/perceptions of communities and service organizations to measure attitudes regarding CBP WWP collaboration and outreach strategies, with the criminal justice system.
  • In collaboration with Marketing developing targeted/specialized communication and information-sharing strategies to facilitate effective relationships and address negative attitudes/perceptions, as appropriate.
  • Prepare outreach and community involvement reports for the programs in behavioral health department.
  • Disseminating information regarding prevention/intervention programs and encouraging the use of best practices.
  • Initiating, developing, and conducting special events, workshops, seminars, and other meetings to educate, inform, and stimulate community program participation.
  • Identifying and educating stakeholders and agencies about resources, such as grant funding opportunities, training, and technical assistance related to community-based programs and prevention/intervention initiatives.
  • Manage CBP WWP social media accounts.
  • Assisting in performing program analysis and evaluation to evaluate overall outreach program effectiveness.
  • Adheres to internal controls established.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, business, or communication preferred.

    EXPERIENCE: 3+ years in, outreach and marketing activities and knowledge of social service delivery. Prior experience within the border patrol or law enforcement community and/or organizations. Business management, project management skills required. Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Outgoing, pleasant, professional manner; the ability to create and maintain contacts in the community; and clearly articulate mission and goals of the CBP WWP.

    ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion. Flexibility in hours required as needed for business purposes.

    LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.

    VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

    OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others. Early morning, evenings, and weekends may be required for attending outreach and networking events.
