Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences, the Dean will oversee a complex set of responsibilities and have an opportunity for major impact. The University of Arizona seeks an individual with a broad understanding of national health policies that spans health professions.With a focus on graduate programs, the College of Health Sciences is committed to training students and developing a workforce of health professionals to serve Arizona's communities. The college offers five graduate-level degree programs: Midwifery, Physician Assistant, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Genetic Counseling, and Clinical Translational Sciences.The Dean oversees the strategic and operational leadership of the college, ensuring academic excellence, research advancement, and community engagement across diverse health science disciplines. This position is responsible for building a strong faculty, developing partnerships within the community and healthcare sectors, and ensuring that the college meets the evolving needs of health sciences education.Duties & Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Strategic Vision: Provide visionary leadership that promotes a culture rooted in academic excellence, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the university's objectives.
• Program Oversight: Provide oversight for the development of health professional programs, ensuring adherence to accreditation standards and maintaining curriculum excellence.
• Research and Innovation: Champion a culture of research and innovation aimed at advancing health care knowledge and practice.
• Community Engagement and Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with health care institutions, industry partners, and community organizations.
• Financial and Resource Management: Commit to the efficient management of budgets and resources, ensuring transparency and accountability.Minimum Qualifications:

• Terminal degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent health sciences degree) or a closely related discipline.
• Academic credentials to support the rank of associate or full professor on a tenure track.Preferred Qualifications:
  • Significant academic leadership experience, preferably including program development and faculty mentorship.
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Record of recruitment and development of diverse faculty, trainees, and students.
  • Experience in budgets and resource management.
